This Privacy Policy explains how Ecom Guide ("Ecom Guide", "we", "us" or "our"), operated by Dmytro Lavryniuk, collects, uses, shares and protects information about you when you visit ecom-guide.com (the "Site") or buy our products and services. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
Ecom Guide is an online education brand founded by Dmytro Lavryniuk. We offer an online e-commerce course, a book, a free niche guide and limited 1:1 coaching. For any question about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@dmytrolavryniuk.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Contact details — your name and email address when you request the free guide, subscribe, or use the contact form.
- Order details — your name, email and billing information when you purchase the course or coaching.
- Communications — the content of messages you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages viewed, links clicked, time on page and the website that referred you.
- Device data — IP address, browser type, operating system, approximate location and device identifiers.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 5.
We do not collect or store your full payment card number — see Section 4.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- deliver the free guide, the course, coaching and other products you request;
- create and manage your account on our course platform (ecom-course.online);
- process payments, send receipts and handle refunds;
- respond to your messages and provide customer support;
- send you service emails (order confirmations, access details, important updates);
- send you marketing emails about our products where permitted — you can opt out at any time;
- measure and improve the Site, our content and our advertising;
- detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse and security issues;
- comply with our legal obligations.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent, the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests, or a legal obligation.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., a third-party payment processor. Your card details are entered on Stripe's secure systems and handled under Stripe's own privacy policy. We receive only limited transaction information — such as your name, email, the amount, the last digits of the card and the result of the charge. We never see or store your full card number.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
We and our partners use cookies, pixels, local storage and similar technologies to:
- keep the Site working and remember your preferences (essential);
- understand how the Site is used so we can improve it (analytics);
- measure and target our advertising on platforms such as Google and Meta — Facebook and Instagram (advertising).
Advertising and measurement partners, including Google and Meta, may set cookies or receive event data through tags on our Site to show you relevant ads and measure their performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings and opt out of personalised advertising through your Google and Meta ad settings, or through tools such as youronlinechoices.eu and optout.aboutads.info. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.
6. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run the business — payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, the course platform, website hosting and analytics — and only as far as they need it to provide their service;
- Advertising and measurement partners (Google, Meta) as described in Section 5;
- Legal and safety recipients — where we must share data to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property or safety of our users or others;
- A successor in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
7. Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our products, and afterwards only as long as necessary to meet legal, accounting, tax or reporting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- request deletion of your information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing;
- receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
- opt out of marketing and of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@dmytrolavryniuk.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. Marketing emails
If you opt in, we may send you emails about our products, offers and content. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to opt out. We will still send essential service messages related to your purchases.
10. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and trusted processors — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International transfers
We and our service providers may process your information in countries other than the one where you live, including the United States. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for such transfers.
12. Children's privacy
The Site and our products are intended for adults. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites and platforms (for example Amazon, Instagram and our course platform). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their policies separately.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
